Kenjon Barner was named the NFC Special Teams Player of the Week thanks to his strong performance against the Cardinals. Barner had career highs in punt returns https://www.eaglesfootballgear.com/Eagles_Chuck_Bednarik_Jersey, punt return yards , and punt return average . His 76-yard punt return in the first quarter was the longest by an Eagle since Darren Sproles at New England in 2015. Barner play helped set up tight end Zach Ertz touchdown in the blowout victory over the Cardinals. Barner is the second Eagle to win the award this season. Rookie Jake Elliott won the award in Week 3 after his game-winning and franchise-record 61-yard field goal. Barner is the first Eagles returner to win the award since Josh Huff last October. Incredibly, neither Barner nor Elliott was on the 53-man roster at the start of the season. Elliott was signed to the roster in Week 2 after kicker Caleb Sturgis was placed on Injured Reserve with a knee injury. After being released by the Chargers at the end of the preseason, Barner was brought back to the Eagles in Week 4 after Sproles was lost for the season with a broken forearm and torn ACL Bryce Treggs Jersey. Needless to say, he is thankful for the opportunity that was presented to him. ust in the short time that Ie been here, guys are close here. Guys have a lot of belief in each other. I think guys having a year in Doug system, a year getting comfortable in his coaching style, and getting comfortable is the biggest difference. Guys just really know what we have in this locker room knowing what wee capable of doing as a team,” Barner said.
