Tell us a little bit about your journey and how you’ve come to arrive here.

So I grew up in Adelaide and met Guy when I was just 15 and he was 13. We started dating when I was about 17 and got married in 2008. After we moved to Sydney I started working as a make-up artist and stylist. I also hosted the MTV show Style Me and was appeared on Bringing Sexy Back. Since having kids I’ve been concentrating on my blog and online show.

Who’s in your family? Ages? Names?

So Guy’s 35, our oldest son Hudson is 5, Archer is three and there’s me, I’m 37. I also have a brother Michael who’s 32, my mum Margaret and my dad Pat.

How did you choose your kids names?

Good question! With Hudson I trolled through every boys’ name list I could find. When I saw it I just loved it and couldn’t get past that name. It fit the bill because I wanted something a little uncommon but not too weird. With Archer we knew we were having another boy, so my friend sent me a whole bunch of boys’ name and that was in the list. I thought, ooh I love that, it’s such a strong name.

Location?

Sydney’s eastern suburbs.

Occupation?

Stylist, blogger on www.Julessebastian.com and host of online series Tea with Jules.

What’s on your manifest board?

Er, my manifest board doesn’t exist in reality! But I have one in my head. I’m a doer so I always have a to do list in my mind and like to manifest things getting ticked off my lists. Maybe I need to manifest the opposite of that and still be a doer, but not go at things so fast and furious. I’d also like to manifest more sleep!

Tell us some of your most loved ways to spend the day with your clan?

As my boys have a whole lot of energy I’m always trying to keep them occupied. We’ll go to playgrounds, parks, beaches, indoor jumping castle places, go on the ferry, go fishing or go bowling. Hudson is obsessed with that. I like to do anything with them where they’re having fun.

What are some silly/fun things that the kids do or say?

Well they know that saying “shut up” is rude, so now instead they say, “up shut” as if it’s more polite! Hudson also recently told me whilst eating dinner, “I’m just digesting my food Mum”. I’m like, “digesting”? where on earth did he hear that word?!

When you were a teenager what did you dream of? Do things look different?

Hmm: to marry a pop star? Well that worked out! You know I’ve never been a one-track-goal type of person. Maybe that’s why my life and career has been a little hap hazard up to now. However at school I knew I was creative and wanted to do something in the fashion field. But back then I didn’t realise styling was even a career choice so it’s good things panned out.

What are some things you really believe in?

I grew up going to church so I have a lot of faith which helps me through. I also believe in family and putting them first. Whatever else happens after that is a bonus.

Where do your passions lie?

I have always loved fashion, styling and surrounding yourself with beautiful things. I’m also really interested in how people get to where they want to in life. That’s why I’m passionate about Tea with Jules as it’s amazing to have opportunities to talk to such bright amazing people and learn so much from people.

Has your relationship with your other half changed since having kids?

Parenthood certainly takes your relationship to a whole other level. Guy and I have both changed because it’s not just the two of us anymore. It’s really beautiful to see how your partner becomes a parent, but you have to work out a new way of being together in order to be great parents.

What are some of your favorite life lessons you’ve grown to love? (even if learning them at the time was hard)

If you put only good things out into the world, then good things will come back to you.

What do you wish you could’ve told yourself when you were a teenager?

Stop worrying! Stop being so concerned about how it’s all going to turn out. Life will turn out fine. And you are going to marry that fuzzy haired boy one day!

What do you find most challenging about being somebody’s parent?

Firstly, it’s exhausting. My two boys are bundles of energy and literally never stop. They keep going and going until bedtime especially Hudson, who was born raring to go. For a chilled out person like me, that’s really challenging because they run rings around me. I also hope I’m up to the challenge of being able to guide them through life in the right way.

What do you want your kids to learn about the world?

That life and the world is better when you’re a kind, compassionate person.

What are 4 things you can’t live without as a parent?

Umm, nappies, wet wipes, playgrounds and ABC Reading Eggs!
