Week 29 Pregnancy VLOG by Teresa Palmer
What week?
29
How big is the baby?
The size of a pineapple or 16 inches (40.6 cm) and weighing in at almost three pounds (1.35 kg)
What's something new this week?
Australia! Oh it feels bloody good to be here. I spent the first few days back here in Adelaide nesting like a crazy person (again). Hours and hours on end of sorting through things, unpacking, getting rid of a lot of stuff we didn’t need and moving items from the kitchen into our big laundry/pantry as we get ready to knock out the kitchen and do a brand new one. It’s funny how I always end up renovating right before having a baby ha! Strange timing.
Most challenging moment?
Putting pressure on myself to get everything sorted and finished. I’m not the most patient person around, and when I get an idea in my head I want to see it though right there and then. So, working on cleaning and sorting meant I didn’t stop for 3 days. I was so exhausted and finally came to peace with the idea of doing a little bit each day.
Most exciting moment?
Bodhi had his first day at school on Tuesday, and it couldn’t have gone better. Forest had his first day in the ELC and told me “it was so fun I just played all the time” and Bodhi said “today wasn’t just good it was AMAZING.” This was after lots of nerves from Bodhi this morning. I’m always so impressed and fascinated by Bodhi’s ability to jump into a new situation, find confidence and become so connected with his little mates. His birthday party list has expanded by 12 in just one day! It’s truly inspirational to us. For me, just getting to be regular mum doing school runs in Adelaide is my dream. I’ve always wanted the boys to go to school in my hometown and today I realised that dream with them. So beautiful and meaningful to me. These are my favourite days.
Starting weight?
114lbs/52kg
Current weight?
First few days of the week I was 134.4lbs then I got Forests cold and have been waking up very puffy and weighed in at 137lbs! I’m guessing it is water retention from the sickness, and it’ll probably settle back down again.
Exercise?
I got my workout gear on once this week, then I couldn’t get into the class I wanted to get into, so I’m scheduled for the class in 2 days time (my favourite F45!). I also worked for hours in my feet scrubbing, cleaning and sorting and felt worse than I ever have after a workout, so I assume that counts as good exercise!
Meals?
Avocado toast, chocolate croissant, chocolate smoothies, salads, bread (and lots of it) green juices. Funny my appetite is actually waning a little, probably because my stomach is getting smooshed and I just don’t have as much space.
Food aversions?
Nothing Indian or Korean, strange because I usually love those cuisines, and a bummer for Mark because he is well into them.
Cravings?
Same, same! Ice & lavender baths
Reflections
I don’t think I’ve ever been this happy in my life. It’s a significant thing to claim but truly just being in our own sanctuary in the Adelaide hills, waiting for bubba and watching the boys thrive in this environment, is incredibly special. I love the peace and tranquility of this lifestyle; just being a mama, observing the boys as they’re growing up so fast, watching their best friendship unfold before my eyes and also being around my parents has been such a welcome treat. I’ve also been seeing my best friends from school and their kids too, summery days by the pool, eating great food, having deep connective and inspiring conversations and just getting to RELAX. Adelaide is my bliss and I know I’ll always treasure this time.
