Weeks 37-38 Pregnancy VLOG baby 3 by Sarah Olsen with Eric Olsen

WHAT WEEK?

37-38 Weeks

HOW BIG IS BABY?

Around 7 lbs. but maybe 8 something according to this one’s ultrasound. The size of swiss chard or some kind of melon.

WHAT’S SOMETHING NEW THIS WEEK?

Lots of pre labor in the evenings. I am experiencing some major Braxton hicks which shows me that my body is getting ready for the big day.

MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT

I am starting to feel more tired. I try to work and play with the kids and get things done around the house but some moments I have to lay down. I try to use that time to read and envision the birth, setting my intentions and calling out any fears that creep into my head.

MOST EXCITING MOMENT

Seeing the doctor and finding out I am 1.5cm dilated. It doesn’t mean much but it just feels exciting that my body is preparing.

EXERCISE

Walking, stretching and practicing some positions that I think will be helpful during labor as I am already feeling cramps and some nerve pain down my legs. It’s nice to figure out now what will help when those feelings intensify.

MEALS

We have been having a beautiful variety of foods thanks to the farm box we have ordered and Sonya our doula/nanny has been making gorgeous nutritious meals with rainbows of color on the plate.
I am also having dates and raspberry leaf tea to help thin the cervix every day.

FOOD AVERSIONS

SAME Canned seafood. The smell of shellfish.  Also, DOG FOOD haha

CRAVINGS

Still craving donuts and sweets. I am treating myself every now and then to a little something.

REFLECTIONS

I love having Eric with me in this video. It’s so nice to be able to reflect over the last 9 months and talk about how excited we are to add this new little love to our family. He has always been such an incredible partner in pregnancy and birth and I am very grateful for that and recognize how blessed I am to have him.

I am trying to enjoy these quiet days before this little one arrives.  It is hard not to picture the squishy face or the moments after baby is born. We hope this one comes soon before Eric goes back to work but we know babies come when they are ready so we will wait here anticipating the arrival.
