A Creative Christmas: Activities by Prue Lacey-Jessep (Nurture and Create)
The lead up to Christmas is such a special time and filled with so much joy for children and our uber talented friend Prue Lacey-Jessep from the incredible Nurture and Create has created five fun holiday activities to encourage creativity and connection this Christmas.
Rudolph Faces
What you need:
brown paper bags
googly eyes
pipe cleaner
scissors
glue
marker
Process:
cut the paper bag into small square or rectangle shapes
make a small hole through the top to thread the pipe cleaners to make the antlers
glue the eyes and nose
draw Rudolph's mouth
Handmade Gift Tags
What you need:
kraft paper gift tags or recycle old swing tags
paint pens
Process:
get creative and make your own little personalised gift tags for family and friends (draw their favourite candy or christmas tradition)
Fingerprint Christmas Wreath
What you need:
watercolour paint
paper
washi tape
Process:
make fingerprints to create a circle shape
add little berries or get creative with other decorations
make a bow using washi tape for the top of your wreath
Magical Reindeer Food
What you need:
glass jar with lid
ribbon
oats
glitter
peppermint oil
Process:
mix oats, glitter and peppermint in a bowl to create a magical potion
on Christmas Eve sprinkle the magical reindeer food in your garden for the reindeers to help them with the rest of their journey around the world
Snowy Cloud Dough
What you need:
8 cups plain flour
1 cup coconut oil
few drops of essential oil
pine cones, mini christmas trees etc
Process:
in a large tub add the plain flour
melt the coconut oil
mix the coconut oil and essential oil to the flour
it should form a soft and crumbly consistency
(for a smaller amount halve the ingredients)
