WHAT WEEK?
5 (omg! Too fast!)

HOW BIG IS BABY?
I actually don’t know exactly what weight she is this week but my (potentially inaccurate) scale says she is 9.2lbs/4.17kg

WHAT’S SOMETHING NEW THIS WEEK?
We’ve heard a few little coos this week, usually after she has smiled she’ll make a couple of cute noises. I can see how much the kids are excited by this as she is becoming more interactive.

MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT?
I felt dead tired this week. I had a super stressful two days earlier in the week, some funky communication and big emotions were felt so the end of the week I felt really depleted. Nothing a good arvo nap couldn’t fix and a whinge/hang with my bestie Kat was just what the doctor ordered. I feel as though I could sleep for weeks on end right now even though the night time sleeps haven’t been too bad. The running around between all the kids is what makes the days more tiring, but they’ve all been super loving, easy and sweet so at least spending time with them even when I’m tired has been such a joy.

FAVOURITE MOMENTS?
Bodhi and Folly have been extra gorgeous with me and Prairie, we’ve been having some amazing chats lately and love just oozes out of those little boys, they really have so much to give the little and big women in their life. We’ve all been getting very pumped to head off to America next week. It’ll be so nice to be reunited with Mark and Izy.

MAMA TIME?
Right now! I’m lying in bed after taking an hour nap and I’m letting Forest have the iPad while I catch up on some work here in bed. There’s so much to do, so little time! But having space to do work really feels luxurious right now. It’ll feel like night and day when we are back with Mark and I’m able to pass the parenting reins over somewhat and catch up on all the things that need doing.

MY BODY?
Feels a little sore and tired. I’m certainly not sore from the birth but it’s the nursing that has me in certain positions that my body isn’t loving right now. I went to see a physio about the pinched nerve and he said that ultimately it has to do with lifting babies, car seats and breastfeeding looking down. He said it’ll be much better when Mark can do the heavy lifting and I’ll be able to rest my neck/shoulder blade and at that point the feelings will return to my fingers!

WHAT AM I EATING?
Snacking on Carob squares yummm and eating a lot of chocolate banana bread, avocado on toast and guacamole, noodles, vegan parmys, Lovewell smoothies and all the kombucha one can have!

WHAT’S WORKING?
Prairie is now napping in the Snoo which is great, she’s clocking in some good hours in there so it gives me some baby free time to get stuff done around the house . She really prefers being held by me so the carrier has been working a treat. We also invested in a bunch of dummies that we leave in the case she gets upset and Bodhi can lean over and put the dummy in her mouth. I've insisted they're not to leave the car though so we don't get into a situation that we had last time with Poet where she started to rely on the dummy for comfort if I wasn't available to her to breastfeed is I was filming. By the time she was 8 months old it just became a habit so we had to ditch it!

CHECKING IN:
Last week here in Adelaide until we head back over to the states for our next stint there. I’m excited and sad all at once. I can’t wait to be back to America and to see our friends there, hang at our home but it’ll also be so bittersweet not being at our house here in the hills, with our dogs, having Bodhi and Forest in their schools and attending all the sweet kids classes we’ve been going to. We will find some equally fun classes in America, I so look forward to seeing my man again and introducing Isaac to Prairie. What a splendid 5 weeks it’s been here, another week to go and then on to the next adventure.
