Creative Halloween Fun by Prue Lacey-Jessep (Nurture and Create)

We've put together five of our favourite creative halloween activities you can do at home. Even though many of us might not be walking our neighbourhoods trick or treating this year, we can still have fun and get creative to celebrate Halloween!.
Magical Witches Potions
Children of all ages love creating potions.Imagination mixed with a little science experiment is the perfect Halloween activity!.
What you need:
bowls, jars, baking soda (bicarb soda), white vinegar, dishwashing liquid, food colouring, spoons, eye droppers
What to do:
1.Set your bowls and jars up on a table (use a table covering in case of any spills)
2. Add a few drops of food colouring and dishwashing liquid to the white vinegar
3. Add extra glitter, bugs etc to make it extra witchy!
4.Gradually put spoonfuls of the baking (bicarb) soda to your mixture and watch it bubble and rise. (You can repeat this process as many times as you like)
Ghostly Leaves
These are super easy to make and can be used as cute little decorations hung around your home.
What you need:
selection of leaves from your garden, white paint, black marker
What to do:
1. Go on a nature hunt and collect a selection of leaves
2. Paint your leaves with white paint
3. Allow to dry then draw some ghostly faces with black marker
4. Tye with twine and hang around your home
Washi Tape Spider Web
Washi tape is such a great material and has endless uses for creative activities.
What you need:
small canvas or paper, washi tape, paints (watercolours or poster paints both can be used), paintbrush
What to do:
1.Create a spider web pattern on your canvas or paper with the washi tape
2.Paint in between the gaps on the paper or canvas
3. Once the paint has dried you can remove the washi tape which leaves a lovely spider web pattern
Gooey Natural Slime
This natural slime is so easy and safe for younger children as it is all natural and taste safe.
What you need:
chia seeds, water, food colouring, medium size bowl, bugs
What to do:
1. Mix chia seeds in a bowl with water and food colouring and allow to soak for a few hours until you have your desired consistency
2.Add bugs and little creatures and place on a floor mat or outside to explore and play with.
Rock Monsters
Create your own little rock monsters with some simple supplies.
What you need:
rocks, leaves, glue, googly eyes, black marker
What to do:
1.Collect a selection of different sized rocks and leaves
2. Glue googly eyes and leaves on
3.Draw a mouth to create your little rock monster
