WHAT WEEK?
24
HOW BIG IS BABY?
About 8 inches long and the size of a grapefruit
WHAT’S SOMETHING NEW THIS WEEK?
Having some new symptoms like some hip stiffness and shooting pains down my right leg. Been hobbling a little bit that’s also because I sprained/broke my little toe when I ran in to Bodhi during a mega rush to get the house ready for guests!
MOST CHALLENGING MOMENT?
Dealing with a grumpy husband after having to figure out how to fit 3 car seats in our new car!! We just finally got a Tesla Model Y but it’s a lot smaller inside than I thought and getting three car seats in is a total nightmare! THREE HOURS of car seat wrangling changing seat configurations, taking in and out car seats and problem solving! We just gave up and we are now going to try and get some rest before attempting it again in the morning! happy Mother’s Day to meeeee
MOST EXCITING MOMENT?
Seeing my friends again and watching our kids all play together. It was absolutely joy filled. It’s been so long since we’ve all been together and because all my friends are vaccinated it was the first time since Covid that we’ve actually been able to interact in person and my goodness it was good for the soul.
STARTING WEIGHT?
116 lbs/52kg
CURRENT WEIGHT?
133.2lbs/60.4kg
EXERCISE?
I hiked this week, for 2.5 hours with Bodhi and the dogs. It was glorious, just the two of us, the mountain, the view and the Hollywood sign. I’ve never hiked it with Bodhi before, I was so very proud of him. He really worked hard and did no complaining at all which I was very very impressed with. We got to connect and spend time with each other and the dogs who absolutely loved it. I’m going to try and do that 3-4 times a week while I’m here.
MEALS?
Vegan spinach artichoke dip (yummmmm) avocado toast, epic vegan salads, banana bread, organic grain cereal and berries, home made beyond burgers, pasta, guacamole and chips and more!
REFLECTIONS?
This Mothers Day I’m reflecting on my journey in to parenthood. There’s nothing I love more than being a mum, nothing even comes close. I recognise that I am incredibly lucky and so even in the moments of hardship I always try to remember that having my (almost!) 5 healthy children is the greatest blessing. Mother’s Day can bring up all sorts of hurt, suffering and trauma in people and I’ve been thinking of them so much today. The relationship we have with mothering; to be mothered and to mother isn’t always a straightforward one and I’ve been marinating on that idea these last couple of days. Sending extra special love to those that need it right now.
